Comporta
‘Comporta is untouched nature, where you can smell all Mother Earth’s aromas, hear all sounds, and taste all, flavours from the living ground’ – Marina Espírito Santo Saldanha.
I couldn’t agree more. We spent an amazing week with the kids & our friends in Carvalhal, which is surrounded by splendid rice paddy fields and beautiful sandy beaches (Praia do Carvalhal and Praia do Pego). The paddy fields have their own balanced ecosystem, which is home to so many birds, insects and flowers. Carvalhal is in the Aletentejo region, 10 minutes by car south of Comporta village. The beautiful small village has so much to offer, from horse riding to magnificent surfing spots and is surrounded by peaceful and relaxed beaches and top restaurants, offering fresh, natural and regional Portuguese and International cuisine. You can enjoy your meals with local Comporta wines with its unique taste and aromatic structure. Don’t miss out a stroll to Comporta village for some shopping or drinks before dinner.
